Last Call
This is Justin's first real full production album. This album has been somewhat controversial as it includes remakes of songs from his acoustic albums. It was also during a time when Justin began to perform with a live band. Most people were used to hearing him with just his trusty Martin guitar, but as Justin began to expand his musical direction he felt the need to reach out to broader audiences as well, and this album seemed to be a good place to start. From the outlaw sounds of "Raising Heaven" to the haunting remakes of "Last Call" and "The debt has been paid" to the progressive acoustic sound of "The last step to Calvary" people began to agree. As well as early favorites it included some brand new songs all which were written by Justin. It also featured Justin's first attempt at playing the electric guitar on each cut. Justin says "I was so nervous and intimidated, but I really wanted to try. My goal has always been nothing less than to be well rounded and hopefully successful in all three areas, as a writer, singer and guitarist. It just means a lot to me personally. I hope others enjoy it as much as I do". With very little promotion the album produced a top 10 song "Turn Right and Keep Straight". Also it received great reviews from major market critics. Here's a quote from an album critic from Nashville's Powersource magazine" SUBMIT TEXT LATER. In his usual style Justin never pushed his way through doors or jumped through hoops, he just wanted to record a good album with good songs. If you like good Country with a deep message, and some outstanding musicians, I think you will agree.
